Mr. Forrest Blake Self

Forrest Blake Self, age 34, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on June 5, 2026. Blake was born on April 23, 1992, and throughout his life he brought joy, laughter, and love to those fortunate enough to know him. Born and raised in Guntersville, Alabama, Blake developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in nature whenever possible. Later in life, he made his home in Baldwin County, Alabama, where he could be closer to the ocean he loved. Blake was the oldest son in his family and was deeply loved by his siblings. He shared a special bond with his sisters and brother, who cherished him not only as a sibling but also as a trusted friend. Blake was a devoted father whose greatest pride and accomplishment in life were his two sons, Johnathan Self and Gracen Self. He adored them beyond measure and treasured every moment he spent with them. Known for his generous spirit and kind heart, Blake never hesitated to help someone in need. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. His compassion, loyalty, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Blake will be remembered as a loving son, devoted father, caring brother, proud uncle, and loyal friend. The sudden and heartbreaking loss of Blake has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family and friends. While words cannot adequately express the grief felt by those who loved him, they find comfort in the countless memories, laughter, and love he shared throughout his life. Blake is survived by his father, Robert Self; his sisters, Lesha Self (Colton Smith), Ashley Fleming (Chance Fleming), Victoria Self, and Bethany Self (Austin Allen); his only brother, John Self (Marian Starr); his sons, Johnathan Self and Gracen Self; his grandparents, Judy Quick and Wayne Quick; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Klump. Among those left to honor his memory are his beloved nieces and nephews: Chloe, Brycin, Sarah, Natyleigh, Ellie, Lylah, Airaleigh, Adaland, Lydia, Lucas, Chance, Jacob, Alaia, Liam, Caroline, Noah, Ivy, Atlas, and Chase. The celebration of life will take place in North Alabama; the date and time will be announced at a later time. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a go fund me established for Blake to assist the family with funeral expenses. Though his life was taken far too soon, Blake’s legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
