Sonya Peacock Mortimer, 82, died unexpectedly on December 18th, 2021 at South Baldwin hospital in Foley, AL. She was born June 16, 1939, in Austin, IN, the daughter of Victor Virgil Peacock and Virginia Chandler Peacock. In 1946, Virginia married Guy O. "Zeke" Robbins and he became Sonya's beloved "Pop". Her sister Jayne joined the family in 1957. Sonya graduated from Austin High School, class of 1957. On July 8, 1972 she married the love of her life Niland “Mort” Mortimer and celebrated 45 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Chandler Robbins and is survived by her adoring daughter, Diana Hants; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her daughter, she is survived also by her loving sister Jayne Campbell and her husband, Roy.
