Mr. Shelton T Craig

October 7, 1932 - February 3, 2021

Shelton T. Craig went home to the Lord on February 3, 2021. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jo Ann Craig, parents Lafayette and Hermie Craig, and sister Margaret Dennis. He is survived by his son Lawrence (Ann), grandchildren Dana, Angela, Laural, and Aubrey, as well as many great-grandchildren. He grew up in Conecuh County and then attended college at Auburn University. He and his wife lived in Jackson for a number of years. The couple later moved to Foley for Shelton's car dealership, Gulf Chrysler Plymouth Dodge. They made their final move to Gulf Shores in order to be closer to their friends and family. He was an active member of Lagoon Baptist Church in Gulf Shores. He was an avid golfer and played as often as he could - even serving as the President of Gulf Shores Golf Club. He loved woodworking, dancing, model trains, and all things cars. Most of all, he enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family. But most who remember Shelton, would remember him as a friend, confidante and trusted advisor. If he invested his time in you, he gave you his undivided attention. Shelton was a loving husband who cared and provided for his wife for 68 wonderful years. Now he has gone home to be with his wife and their family in heaven. Shelton will be missed dearly but will always be remembered by his earthly family. A celebration of his life will be held at Lagoon Baptist Church on February 14th at 2pm.
