Mr Ronald C Kemp

December 19, 1940 - October 25, 2021

Ronald (Ronny) C. Kemp stepped into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 25th at the age of 80. Perhaps you knew him because he cut your hair in a tiny barber shop in Adamsville, Alabama. Ask his grandsons or anyone - he gave the best haircuts around. Maybe you knew him from attending church with him. When he was at church, you knew it. He was an “amen-er” and took the challenge of singing in stride. It could be you recall his zest for life, his stubborn tenacity, his unique way with words, his fiercely loyal friendship, or his unmistakable laugh. No matter how you knew him, I guarantee he changed your life. He had a way of doing that. Ronny was born on December 19,1940. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, brother, and sister. He left many here to carry out his legacy: husband to Sharon, dad to daughters Sharee (Phil) and Ronda (Stephen) and Papa to grandsons Garrett, Drew (Emma), Brady and Alex. Their lives were all touched in some way by the generosity, testimony, and genuine concern Ronny exuded - even when those things generally had to be on his terms. To know him was to love him and be loved by him. The task now is to carry out this legacy. He loved Jesus, adored his family, and enjoyed life. Ronny never walked into a room where he didn’t know someone or immediately started a conversation with a stranger. He would quickly give you the shirt off his back and the ones in his closet. He was a snazzy dresser and could shop all day for the perfect pair of shoes. He started his mornings with a cup of coffee and a Bible worn from use and written in during study, and touched heaven for his friends and family on a daily basis. He and Annabelle could often be seen taking walks in the neighborhood and stopping to talk with her doggie friends and their humans. He made sure we knew not to get married on a Saturday when Alabama played, and pulled for the Braves every step of the way. He fought hard to stay with us, and heard “well done” when his hand joined the outstretched hand of Jesus. The family invites you to join them in honoring a life well lived. The service will be held at Pine Rest Funeral home in Foley, Alabama, on Monday, November 1st with visitation from 12:00pm - 2:00pm and the funeral and graveside to follow. Donations in Ron Kemp’s memory can be made to the Gideons International (sendtheword.org), an organization he worked for and supported as they distribute Bibles all over the world.
