January 6, 1942 - June 28, 2020
Jacqueline S. Nassar of Perdido Beach, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1942, in Liverpool, England, to Jack and Ellen (Milburn) Smith. Jacqueline moved from her native England to the United States at age 10. She was an accomplished singer from a very young age, releasing her first recording at age 13 with artist Jack Cardwell in 1955. Jacqueline married William Nassar of Mobile on July 31, 1960, and the couple had two children. Jacqueline spent the majority of her adult life as a dedicated mother, homemaker, and servant of the Lord. Her devotion to the study of scripture and her delight in His teachings remained steadfast through her final days. Those close to her will always remember her warm smile, contagious laughter, and penchant for a hot cup of tea. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Pauline Ward (David) of Vancleave, Mississippi; children, Ellen Nassar Blackmon of Gulf Shores and William Michael Nassar, Jr. of Perdido Beach; grandchildren, David Blackmon of Pensacola, Florida, and Rachel Cash (Jesse) of Birmingham, Alabama; and great-grandsons Jonathan and Lucas Blackmon of Pensacola and Ryan Cash of Birmingham. A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home of Magnolia Springs. Visitation will begin at 9:30 immediately preceding the funeral service in the Chapel. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the dedicated nurses of Kindred Hospice for their loving care and attentiveness, as well as to all of the friends and family who have supported us during this difficult time. Jacqueline will abide in our hearts, and we take comfort in knowing that she has returned home to the Lord.
