Mrs Dorothy Hoops Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy Hoops was born November 13, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Lottie and John Rachuk. She departed this life on July 17, 2022, at her daughter Sandy's home in Foley, Alabama. Dottie married Robert Hoops (son of the late Herbert and Bernice Hoops) of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, on July 9, 1949, at St. Mary's Church, in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories her four children: two sons, Rick Hoops and John Hoops (wife Teresa) of Alaska, and two daughters, Sandy Gabel (husband Mike) and Robin Myers (husband Michael) of Foley, Alabama. Six grandchildren; Michelle Ziegler (Bill), Robert Gabel (wife Selena), Ryan Butler, Carri Brown (husband Kyle), Nicole Johnson (husband Patrick), and Kalianne Thompson Myers (Austin). Seven great-grandchildren; Joey Ziegler (Megan), Sara Laufer (husband Tyler), Allison Ziegler (Tony), McKenna Gabel, Joshua Gabel, Eli Brown and Patrick Johnson. Three great-great grandchildren; Jaxen Rehrauer, Lila Jane Manbeck, Theodore Joseph Laufer. Sisters; Helen Helbig of Michigan and Joanna Doyle (Tom) of California, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dottie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Robert Hoops. Brothers; Victor Rachuk and Edward Rachuk. Sisters; Virginia Kopacz and Julie Bazzy. Brother-in-law David Hoops and his wife Myrna Hoops, Dottie's beloved Stepfather Alfred Borkowski. Dottie was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Elberta, Alabama. The family of Dottie Hoops is truly grateful for all the acts of kindness, concerns, and sympathy shown to us during the passing of our loved one. We pray God's blessings on all of you.
