Carole Kitty Koch
September 4, 1932 - August 3, 2019
Carolyn Odelia Hendry was born 6th of 11 children to Mary Jewel Anderson and Elmer Floyd Hendry. Carole was one of seven sisters, also a star constellation, and she named the largest live oak in the United States, The Seven Sisters, which is in Lewisburg, LA. She was an All Star Basketball player, Korean Air Force Veteran, avid reader and lover of crossword puzzles, nature lover, artist, painter, sculptor, decorator, model, landscaper, gardener, business owner, antique dealer, building contractor, designer, excellent seamstress and gourmet cook, and much, much more. She was a loving, caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. The quote she lived by was, “Work is love made visible.” -K. Gibran. Known as Kitty, she was one of the most beautiful, hardworking, extraordinary Women anyone ever met. If she loved you, she would do anything for you, if she liked you, you were lucky, and if she didn’t like you, you knew it, and you also knew to steer clear of her. The world is a dimmer, duller place without her. She is survived by her Daughter, Diane Doby Merrill, (Ben), Grandson, Louis Remington Tenney, (Jennifer), and Granddaughter, Alexandra Brie Tenney, and five Great Grandchildren, James Remington Tenney, Isabella Rain Burton, Amy Taylor Tenney, Xander River Burton, and Laura Harris Tenney. She is predeceased by her Son, Thomas Louis Doby III (1962-1978) and her Husband, Rudy Koch (1932-2019). Pallbearers are her caregivers over the last few years; April Strausser, Deborah Smith Moman, Elizabeth Phelps, Jessica Nix, Lucia Amor, Melanie Klopfenstein Macdonald, Rachel Engle, Stephanie Witt.
