Bettie Sue Norris Shinault Bettie Shinault passed from this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Foley AL. She was born in Nashville TN on October 21, 1930. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles L. Shinault of Gulf Shores AL; her parents Leon V. & Thelma B. Norris of Mobile AL and her beloved brothers and sisters in law. Mrs Shinault is survived by her sister, Camille N. Warren of Gulf Shores AL; daughters Elisabeth ‘Betsy’ Oliver (Steve) of League City TX, Patricia Charline Shinault of Mobile AL and Alison Diane Inscore (David) of Fairhope AL; grandchildren Ben Riddle (Lesley) of Monticello IN, August Oliver (Meagan) of El Lago TX, Aimee Inscore Barron of Fairhope AL & Alison Inscore of Fairhope AL; great-grandchildren Karleigh, Khloey, Kaycie & Kellsea of Monticello IN; Elliott, Rory & Rhys of El Lago TX and Ashlin Barron of Fairhope AL. She is also survived by her beloved sister of the heart, Patsy Sharpless (Lynn) of Mobile AL. She leaves many nieces and nephews, and a bonus daughter Sandee Hodges Yessick (Duane), she loved dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at Pine Rest Funeral Home, Foley AL, on June 27, 2020, with visitation 12:30pm to 2pm, followed by a service in the Chapel officiated by her grandson, Rev. Benjamin L. Riddle. After her internment alongside her beloved Charlie, we will lift a toast to them both. She and her sweet Charlie settled in Spring Texas in 1966 where they lived until 1981 when they moved to Gulf Shores AL. There she participated in Lunch Bunch, Friends of the Library and 1st Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores. Oh, and in naming a little business called Tacky Jack’s, you may have heard of it. She participated in many WWII Veteran and Air Corp/Air Force groups with Charlie, who was a decorated B17 Pilot. She and Charlie enjoyed traveling to see his old crew members. A Murphy High School graduate, class of 1948,she loved to dance, design and make clothes with her mother and to socialize with her friends. She spent the last 9 years at Live Oak Independent and Assisted Living in Foley AL, where the staff became like family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "Survivors of Mental Illness Outreach at SOMIclub.org, 4351 Midmost Drive, Mobile, Al 36609 an organization in Mobile AL. She shall forever abide in our hearts.
