Steven Edward Hodo

Foley, AL - Steven Edward Hodo, age 48, passed away on April 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart Hospital, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on February 5, 1976, in Greenville, MS, Steven was the beloved son of Willie Richard Hodo, Jr., and Mary Catherine Hale Hodo. A proud graduate of Foley High School, Steven pursued higher education at Bishop State College, shaping his path towards success. He was married to Andrea Hanks Hodo, from 2004 to 2023. Together they welcomed the joy of their lives, daughter Lainey Lynn Hodo, in 2008. He also cherished his bonus son, Trenton Stafford. Professionally, Steven was the esteemed owner of Gulf Coast Hodo Electric LLC, where his dedication and expertise illuminated the community he served. Beyond his professional endeavors, Steven found solace and joy in the outdoors, indulging in his passions for golfing, fishing, and hunting. His infectious smile could brighten the darkest of days, and his bear hugs offered comfort and warmth to all who crossed his path. Steven’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hodo, uncle, James Edward Hodo, aunts, Kathy Hodo Weeks, Linda Hodo Wade, and Carol York; grandmothers, Margie Lee Hodo and Shirley Chandler Caldwell; as well as cherished cousins, James Edward Hodo and Tammy Marie Vick. He is survived by his devoted mother, Catherine Hodo of Foley, brothers, Ricky Hodo of Foley, and Jody (Alycia) Hodo of Orange Beach; his beloved daughter, Lainey Hodo of Gulf Shores, and son Trenton (Hannah) Stafford of Spanish Fort; nephew, Kane (Bailey) Hodo of Summerdale; nieces, Mikayla Hodo of Foley, Ava and Addy Hodo of Orange Beach; and his girlfriend, Brittany Garlipp of Foley. Steven leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his aunts, Mary Elizabeth Hodo, and Judy Hodo, uncle, Randy Weeks; cousins, Roy Wade, Candy Caldwell, Lisa Hodo, Brent Hodo, Alex Vick, Barry Vick, Randy Weeks Jr., and Christopher Weeks; and many cherished friends. Funeral services to honor Steven’s life will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley, AL, with Phill Clemons officiating. Following the service, Steven will be cremated. A reception will be held at The Cove Bar & Grill in Gulf Shores, AL, starting at 5:00 pm, where friends and family can gather to share memories and celebrate Steven’s life. In honoring Steven’s life, let us celebrate the light he brought into our lives and hold onto the memories that will forever keep his spirit alive.
