Mr. Steadman Lee Peed

It is with unwavering faith in God’s promises that we share that Steadman Peed, loving husband, father, and faithful servant, went home to his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Steadman was a devoted, lifelong member of Lagoon Baptist Church, who leaves behind a legacy of faith to his children. Steadman is survived by his wife, Kate, and his three sons, Honor, Anders, and Whitson. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Lee Peed and grandparents, Vivian Callaway Peed, Billy Gene Peed, Clara Dennis, John Mitchell, and Mary Mitchell. He is also survived by his mother, Debra Dennis Peed, grandfather, Gary Dennis, sisters, Hunter Peed Lolley (Rick), Chesley Peed Kalehoff (Richard), brother, Cortland Peed, three aunts, Marimanda Peed Tillman, Robin Peed, Donna Dennis, one niece, Vivvie Lolley, two nephews, Wake Lolley and Andrew Lee Kalehoff, and many beloved cousins. Steadman was born on July 14, 1980. He was proud of his family heritage in Gulf Shores, Alabama and loved his island and the Gulf of Mexico, which was where he felt most at peace. He had many fond memories of time spent on the island at large family gatherings, and shrimping and fishing with his father and a multitude of other relatives. He was honored to be his father’s son and namesake, and treasured time spent with him on the water, hunting, and watching Auburn football. He met his wife, Kate, in childhood in the small church where his relatives were founding members. They went on to be baptized together, marry, and serve there with their sons. It was in this church that the foundation of his faith was established. Steadman had the gift of faith and lived for the opportunity to share his friend, Jesus, with everyone who God placed in his path. Steadman was a devoted husband, father, family member, and friend to so many. Those who knew him often said he had the “biggest heart.” He was also known as a man of integrity and worked to instill this virtue in his young sons. If he offered help or made a promise he kept his word. He strove to be a strong spiritual leader, modeling Christ-like love and humility. Steadman was always a gentleman and was the perfect example of a Godly husband to his children’s mother. He lived up to his nickname, “Steady,” affectionately bestowed upon him by his children, as he has been a steadfast anchor in their lives. Although his passing leaves an ache in our hearts, his legacy of love and faith lives on in those who loved him and whom he loved fiercely. We take comfort in knowing that he is with his Savior and dearest friend, completely healed and no longer in pain. Visitation will be at 1:00, with the service beginning at 2:00 at Lagoon Baptist Church on Fort Morgan Road in Gulf Shores, Alabama. A graveside service will follow at Miller Memorial Cemetery in Gulf Shores.
