Mrs Sharon Warren Kemp

Sharon Sue Warren Kemp was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and reunited with her adoring husband, Ronny, on Thursday, September 8th, 2022. She was born on December 5th, 1943; raised in the Birmingham/Forestdale area and graduated from Minor High School. Her father was the late Joseph Clayton Warren. Her parents were the beloved Ethelda “Tootsie” Hinkle Shaw and stepfather, Willie Ralph Shaw. Mrs. Kemp worked as an administrative assistant at the UAB Cancer Center in the 1960’s. However, after a devastating spinal injury, she was unable to work again. In the years that followed, all of her focus was on being a wife and mother. Sharon was known for her kindness and compassion for others. She loved Jesus, displayed His love, and inspired others to do the same. For many years of her life she served in the church teaching Sunday School, helping with VBS, women’s ministry, and church events. When their daughters were teenagers, their home was always open to the youth group and other friends. She enjoyed volunteering at their girls’ schools in Bagley and Corner, AL, while they were growing up. She served as PTA president and held other offices, worked on yearbooks, fundraising, and other events. Once they were empty nesters, she and Ronny moved to the Mt. Olive/Gardendale area and were members of Gardendale First Baptist for several years. After retiring to Foley, AL, they became members of First Baptist Gulf Shores. Sharon was artistically and musically talented. She succeeded at everything she tried from ceramics and tole painting to sewing, crocheting, and floral arranging. She took piano lessons in her early years and had a beautiful voice. Mrs. Kemp passed on her musical ability to her daughters and made sure they had the opportunity to develop their own talents. Sharon deeply loved her husband and adored her family, especially their four grandsons and one great granddaughter. Survivors include: daughters, Shareé (Phil) Romine and Ronda (Stephen) Tunnell; grandsons, Garrett Romine, Brady (Kelsey) Romine, Drew (Emma) Tunnell, and Alex Tunnell; great grand daughter, Ivy Tunnell. She is also survived by other extended family members who meant so much to her. Sharon was preceded in death by her (aforementioned) parents; husband, Ronald Calvin Kemp; brother, Donald Joseph Warren, and many other loved ones and friends. What a sweet reunion they had! The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley, AL. A service celebrating Mrs. Sharon Kemp’s life will immediately follow with graveside on-site.
