Mr. Noel Cornez

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Noel Cornez, a loving husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 53. He was surrounded by family and loved ones in his final moments. Noel was born on December 23, 1970, to Artemio and Lazara Cornez, and lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and generosity. In May 2000, he and his family moved from the Philippines to Foley, Alabama, where he made his home and quickly became a beloved member of his community. Noel was the devoted husband of Ligaya Cornez, and the proud father of Cyrus Cornez and his wife, Judy Ann Cornez. His love for his family was immeasurable, and his unwavering support and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew him. For 18 years, Noel worked as an assembler at Raytheon Aerospace, where his dedication, work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues. But it was his character outside of work that truly defined him. Noel’s compassion and kindness were evident in everything he did. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or simply brighten someone’s day with his ever-present smile. Noel also had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing. He was an avid fisherman, and many will remember him spending hours by the water, casting his line and savoring the peace that came with it. For Noel, fishing wasn’t just a hobby—it was a way to connect with nature and to enjoy quiet moments of reflection. A faithful member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ), Noel’s deep spiritual faith was a guiding force in his life. His commitment to living out the principles of love, compassion, and service was evident in everything he did. Noel’s generosity knew no bounds. Whether he was volunteering his time, helping a neighbor, or offering a kind word to a stranger, he always put others before himself. His smile was a constant reminder of his joyful spirit and his belief in the good in everyone. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever cherish the memory of his warmth, his kindness, and his enduring positivity. Noel is survived by his loving wife, Ligaya Cornez; his son, Cyrus Cornez; and daughter-in-law, Judy Ann Cornez. He will also be deeply missed by countless friends, colleagues, and extended family members whose lives he touched with his generous heart. Viewing will be held at Pine Rest Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 16541 US Hwy 98 in Foley, Alabama on November 26, 2024 between 10:00am and 12:00pm to honor and celebrate Noel’s life and interment following right after. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in his memory, reflecting the selfless spirit that defined his life.
