Mrs Mary Ashworth Laseter

Mary Elizabeth Ashworth Laseter, 83, of Folley, AL, passed away on November 19, 2019. She was born April 7, 1936 in Cullman, AL. She was predeceased by her parents Mitchell Clay Ashworth and Glinner Mount Ashworth. She enjoyed cooking for family, coloring beautiful pictures, playing rook, dancing, watching Braves baseball and Alabama football, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary and William Dempsey Laseter were married on November 5, 1955 in Cullman, AL. After more than 50 years of marriage, he died in 2006. Together they raised three girls: Rita Charlene Laseter, Julie Darlene Laseter Dupree, and Donna Elaine Laseter Parker. Mary is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Virginia Gordon and Raymond, Helen Umphrey and Ray, George Elam and Hershel Robertson and her sons-in-law Michael M Dupree, Jr and Stanley R Parker. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael M. Dupree, III and wife Mary, Kristina Michelle Dupree and wife Kim, Samuel Laseter Parker and wife Amanda, Sara Elizabeth Dupree-Wolf and husband Will, Emily Caitlin Wheeland Kwak and husband Warren, and James Burley Parker. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews that she loved as her own. Mary was also survived by her step grandchildren and great grandchildren Anthony Loveless and daughter Sydney, Chris Loveless and wife Amanda and their children Emily and Eli, Beth Parker Mullinax and husband Wayne and their children Raeana and Gaven She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Ashworth and wife Nancy, and sisters Betty Sue Elam and Gladus Ashworth Roberts. The family has entrusted Pine Rest Memorial Funeral Home with the arrangements. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be scheduled for a future date at The Grove Clubhouse in Foley, AL. All who wish to celebrate her life by sharing precious memories and photos are welcome to participate. After the celebration, the family will have a private gathering to say their final goodbye to spread her ashes in a place that was meaningful to her.
