Mrs. Louise Ann Cox

Louise Ann Cox, 76, of Gulf Shores, AL, transitioned to eternal life surrounded by her loving family on January 23, 2024. She was born on January 20, 1948, to Joseph and Viola (Valdez) Padilla in Costilla, NM. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Cox, who she married on August 30, 1969. She is also survived by her three beautiful daughters, Karen Young of Palm Springs, CA, Cynthia (Wayne) Brown of Pueblo, CO, and Maria Profit of Gulf Shores, AL, five grandchildren, Byram (Xexela) Brown of San Antonio, TX, Stephen Cox of Indianapolis, IN, Richard Brown of Pueblo, CO, Christopher Brown of Pueblo, CO, and Taneal Bartrum of Marion, IN, two great-grandchildren, Israel and Isaiah Estorga of San Antonio, TX., and four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Viola (Valdez) Padilla, brothers Julian Padilla, Joseph Padilla, and Stanley Padilla, and grandson Tyler Cox-Roderick. Louise was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many throughout her life. She will be remembered by many for her beaming smile, healing hugs, and love for cooking. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, and never ceased praying for her family and fellowship. She was a faithful member of Our Lady Of The Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, AL. Additionally, Louise was a dedicated and passionate member of the Al-Anon Family Group where she celebrated over 33 years of recovery. Many will remember her unconditional love and support for everyone she met through the program. She was a spirited servant of the program, and was equally passionate about helping other members be involved in servanthood as well. More than anything, Louise fiercely loved her husband, Steve, and family, and took great pride in all her family’s many accomplishments. Their successes were her successes, their lows her lows, their dreams her dreams. She was most proud to know her legacy would live on through her family. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Pine Rest Funeral Home & Memorial Park and will take place on January 30, 2024 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, AL. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. with Visitation following from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Interment Service will follow immediately at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort. Pallbearers will be Taneal Bartrum, Byram Brown, Richard Brown, Stephen Cox, Isaiah Estorga, and Israel Estorga. Memorials or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
