Dorothy Diane "Dee" Adcock

Dorothy Diane "Dee" Adcock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024, at the age of 81. Dee was born on January 28, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lewis and Louise Elder. She grew up in Tampa, Florida. After graduating from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, she attended Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana for one year. Dee embarked on a career in office management for many years, where she earned the respect of colleagues for her dedication and integrity in the workforce. Dee met the love of her life, Joseph “Mike” Adcock during her high school years and they married a few years later, embarking on a journey filled with love and companionship that lasted 60 years. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created countless memories that will forever be cherished. Dee was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, and her bright smile would lighten even the darkest of days. Dee's passion for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ touched the lives of many, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her free time, Dee enjoyed singing in her church choir, spending time with her many friends and Sunday School class at FBC Gulf Shores and loving on her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anyone who met or knew Dee saw how much she loved God and people. Her love for God was contagious, and she found great joy in telling others about Him. Dee is survived by her loving family: her devoted spouse, Mike; her children, Kristy LaFollette (Gary) and Patty Etheridge (Patrick); her grandchildren, Austin LaFollette (Sierra), Katelin Dorn (Logan), Garrett LaFollette, Kaden Etheridge, and Ashton Etheridge; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Theodore LaFollette; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. A celebration of Dee's life will be held on Friday, July 26th. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and her celebration service will follow at 11:00 a.m. The celebration will be held at First Baptist Church Gulf Shores at 2200 W. 1st Street, Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542. Donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child through FBC Gulf Shores or Community Hospice. Dee will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her genuine compassion, her enduring love for her family and her service to the Lord. Her legacy of kindness and Godliness will continue to inspire all who were blessed enough to have known her.
