Dennis Brice

Dennis received a life-changing offer on January 10th that he simply couldn't refuse. This offer would take him to Paradise, where he will forever enjoy sandy beaches, a cold beer in hand, lottery tickets are free, and he will forever be a winner. Imagining Dennis contently fishing with the sun shining bright, the scent of coconut suntan oil in the air, and his loyal dogs by his side brings comfort to those who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, his children plan to honor Dennis by scattering his ashes in the beautiful waters of the Florida Keys, his favorite place on Earth. Now, Dennis is free to travel wherever his heart desires. His family will always hold him close in their thoughts and be reminded of him whenever they hear a Willie Nelson song, knowing that Dennis is finally free from the discomfort. Dennis was born on December 25th, 1949, in Foley, Alabama, to Sonny Brice and Evelyn McMurry. Growing up in Foley, he attended local schools and played football as a wide receiver for Foley High School, graduating in 1969. Dennis had a successful career in the auto body business before becoming an insurance claims adjuster for Pilot Catastrophe, allowing him to travel the world. Later, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and opened his own business called Tropic Expressions, specializing in palm trees in Foley. After retiring, Dennis continued to work until his passing. Now, Dennis can rest peacefully in paradise, forever remembered, and loved. Dennis is survived by his two children, Traci Gunniss (her husband Ben Gunniss) of Spring, Texas, and Todd Brice (his wife Robin Brice) of Gulf Shores, AL. He is also survived by his sister Judy Holasz of Foley and his brother Robert Smith (his wife Dawn Smith) of Dallas, Texas. Dennis had three grandchildren: Brittany, Bailey, and Chandler, as well as five great-grandchildren Alexa-Grace, Brantley, Bryleigh Kate, Kynleigh, and a sixth one on the way named Huntley. He is also survived by his aunt Joyce Brice Lee of Foley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Before his passing, Dennis expressed clear instructions to his daughter Traci and son Todd to celebrate the completion of his life's mission. Dennis will be cremated, and his ashes will be taken to the Florida Keys, where they will be scattered into the beautiful clear waters. A local celebration of life will be held, and further details will be announced once arrangements are finalized.
